PERFORMANCE
The acoustic and electric basses in Trilian are sampled at an extremely high level of detail. The combination of the software’s intuitive, automatic selection of legato and release articulations as the user plays – and the extensive ‘Round-Robin’ variations introduced for natural sounding bass lines with repeated notes – create a more dynamic and subtle playing experience. Newly developed multisampled dynamic slides let notes realistically slide from one to another. Each of the basses feature multi-channel mixing between phase-locked microphone/amplifier and direct outputs of each bass.

Over sixty different 4, 5, 6 and 8 string Electric basses are presented in fingered, picked, fretless, slapped, tapped, and muted technique variations – providing a huge variety of sounds for any musical genre. Highlights of the Electric Basses include a Music Man 5-string Studio Bass, Chapman Stick®, Lakland Rock P-Bass, Clean Fender® Jazz Bass, a Hardcore Rock Bass, a Retro 1960’s Epiphone® Viola Bass and much more.
Trilian’s stunning Acoustic Bass is the most detailed instrument Spectrasonics has ever released, with 4 audio channels and over 21,000 samples to create this single instrument! SOUND CREATION
For Synth sounds, Trilian features newly-developed 4-Pole “Juicy” and “Power” Filter algorithms with oscillating resonance that are ideal for electronic bass. Hundreds of synth soundsources were created using over 30 of the most exotic and coveted hardware synthesizers – from the original Moog® Taurus Pedals to the latest boutique analog modular synthesizers. A multitude of extremely powerful editing controls are available for sound design – including the “FlexMod” modulation system, Dual Filters with more than 19 filter types, 6 multistage looping envelopes, 6 full-featured LFOs, dual morphing modulation, modulatable FX racks and much more.
Trilian’s FX racks include all of the renowned FX processors from Omnisphere and Stylus RMX – including a wide variety of amp and speaker models, distortions, dynamics processors, equalizers, chorus, phasers, flangers, delays, reverbs, unique specialty FX and more.
LEGACY
As Spectrasonics’ next-generation bass instrument, Trilian includes enhanced, remastered versions of Trilogy’s core library – taking it to a new level of sound and expression. As a special bonus, Spectrasonics’ original “Bass Legends” multisamples have also been remastered and included in the Trilian library, featuring Abraham Laboriel, John Patitucci & Marcus Miller (bass sounds which some hardware synth users may remember from popular Roland Xpansion boards and the classic MBD-1 rack bass module).
INTEGRATION
Trilian is the first virtual instrument to feature core library integration with Spectrasonics award-winning, flagship Omnisphere synthesizer. Trilian’s complete sound library can be opened within Omnisphere for further synthesis and expanded performance possibilities.
Trilian’s Arpeggiator features the “Groove Lock” technology Spectrasonics pioneered in Omnisphere and Stylus RMX’s Time Designer – which means that with a simple drag and drop action, the feel of bass patterns created with Trilian’s Arpeggiator can be perfectly synchronized between all three of Spectrasonics instruments.
INTERFACE
The new Custom Controls interface on the Main page of each patch brings out the most useful and interesting sound modification controls for that specific patch, and a single control can even modify numerous parameters to create unique FX. The Custom Controls are all MIDI Learnable, Automatable and users can create their own configurations of Custom Controls.

Stylus RMX Xpanded is an award-winning, industry standard groove-based virtual instrument plug-in. Stylus RMX Xpanded is the first product to offer the combined power of Groove Control® with Spectrasonics Advanced Groove Engine (S.A.G.E.) technology giving users dramatic control over groove production and performance. Spectrasonics’ in-house development team created the instrument from the ground up, with dozens of innovative features including the ground-breaking Time Designer®, Chaos Designer®, a completely redesigned multi-page user interface, a legendary core library of sounds, all with a focus on realtime groove creation and performance. RMX quickly became and remains an industry standard tool of most top composers and music producers.
Unsurpassed Innovations
Of the many remarkable capabilities in Stylus RMX Xpanded, possibly the most innovative features are the Time Designer® and Chaos Designer®. With simple controls, the user can introduce musical Chaos into the groove, which allows it to have constantly evolving variations— giving the impression that the audio grooves are improvising. The results can be subtle or extreme by setting the simple to use controls. A Capture feature allows the spontaneous audio chaos patterns to be made into a MIDI file, dragged and dropped into the host sequencer, and played back again for further editing by the user. The Time Designer feature is unmatched in any other rhythm software and allows realtime changing of audio grooves to any time signature, feel or pattern – an infinite creative tool!
Core Library
The highly acclaimed core library in Stylus RMX Xpanded has thousands of cutting-edge grooves and sounds that were created by Spectrasonics’ international sound design team, and produced by Eric Persing. The core library contains nearly triple the amount of sounds originally offered in the original Stylus, and contains all the original material as well. The sounds and grooves in Stylus RMX Xpanded offer a much wider range of modern musical genres than the original Stylus. Mixes of grooves are broken down into individual tracks called Elements for flexibility and infinite combinations.
Also introduced in Stylus RMX Xpanded are thousands of Kit modules, 250 Kit patches, as well as user Kit construction….Users can create their own customized multitrack remix grooves and kits, save them into the plug-in, and even share them with other Stylus RMX Xpanded users on different platforms and hosts. RMX now even comes with 500 Multi grooves.

Stylus RMX Xpanded now includes all five Spectrasonics “S.A.G.E. Xpanders”, bringing the total number of included grooves/sounds to nearly 10,000. Moving the STEAM directory after installation (Windows)
1. Drag or copy the STEAM folder from your installation drive (C:ProgramDataSpectrasonics) to the hard drive location of your choice. This can be another drive partition, a secondary internal drive or an external hard drive. Due to the streaming requirements, a Solid State Drive is recommended
2. Next, right-click the STEAM folder in the new location to create a “Shortcut To STEAM”
3. Next, copy the shortcut to C:ProgramDataSpectrasonics
4. Finally, make certain to remove the “Shortcut To” from the name (including removing the spaces), leaving the folder shortcut named STEAM
Moving the STEAM directory after installation (Mac)
1. Drag or copy the STEAM folder from your installation drive (For Example: Macintosh HD/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics) to the hard drive location of your choice. This can be another drive partition, a secondary internal drive or an external hard drive. Due to the streaming requirements, a Solid State Drive is recommended
2. Next, hold Command and Option on the keyboard, click and drag the STEAM folder to the desktop to create an alias of the folder named STEAM
3. Next, move the STEAM alias from the desktop to Macintosh HD/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics
